Is it so hard to choose
or is it that we just can't tell -
between flying economy to paradise
and first class to hell!

If I wrote you a song my love,
would you sing it to me
and not your love?

My question to Mr. Arnab Boreswami after watching his debate this evening: Why boycott the Olympics only because of Dow and its sponsorship of London 2012? I say boycott the Olympics for the plain fact that it is being held on British soil! To protest against 200 years of atrocities committed on our people and for all they looted from our land. Have they paid us back, the rotten bastards? Hell no! Come to think of it, it just might be we who are paying for the goddamn games!! So please let us go and try to get back as much of our gold (and silver and bronze) as we can! The Chinese will end up taking most of it anyway.

The Hindu vs. The Times of India ad wars - what fun! But I have to be honest and say that the last time I read The Hindu, 'boring' was exactly the thought that came to my mind. I mean seriously, who has the time these days to read so much? We in India are slowly moving into what I call the Dunkin' Donut way of life, where you get outta bed, grab a donut or whatever else you can get your hands on, dunk it in your coffee/tea, and go about your business. The Hindu (or anything else for that matter) can wait. In fact I reckon the only people that can possibly do justice to all the paper has to offer are those in government jobs who could use good nap every few hours!

As for the Times of India you get the feeling that contrary to what their ads say, they don't even want you getting out of bed and reading their paper. Or even if they do want you out of bed, it is only to carry on proceedings in the balcony or on the terrace or in the kitchen as this seems to suggest!

Peace, love, and some sense to the nonsense.

December 31, 2011

people get ready
there's a train a-coming
you don't need no baggage
you just get on board
all you need is faith!

The 2012 leaves in about 22 hours from now. We do not know where it will take us, or what we will end up doing; who along the way we will love, and who we will hate; who will make us smile, who will make us cry; who will break our hearts, and who will bring us joy. But we have to get on.

And I, as usual, will be standing in the doorway.

He didn't have much of a past.

What is this
we drink away?
Pain, disappointment, regret, or
just the memories?

The King of Good Times sure got some balls, don't he? Your fucking airline, you went overboard, and now you want the government to bail you out! Wah! Shut the bludy thing down and have 240 girls in your damn calendar next year instead of 12! Moron!

***

2G scam. No bail, only jail for the bludy rascals. Good! Every time I start to feel sorry for Kanimozhi having to use the toilet in full view of her prison guards (unless the old walrus has had the latest European crapper and bath fitted in for her), the Anna Hazare in me springs up and says, -- No! It's because of scum like her that we have people shitting on the streets! No sympathy.

***

Metallica kicked ass! Though I have to say the Palace Grounds is no place to hold a rock concert. Because you do not make 50,000 people wade in and out through the muck from one entrance and exit like cattle. Not unless it's bludy Woodstock. In which case we'd have been more appropriately under-dressed.

I gotta say this for the Bangalore girls though - those beer drinking, chhota kapda wearing, babes with their cancer sticks: You rock! But the next time I go there I want an automatic pistol with plenty of spare cartridges to shoot some of those bastard rickshaw drivers in the head. That'll be more fun than watching a bunch of beer guzzling chicas going about their business.

And Koshy's. Yes, you know how they say no trip to Bangalore is complete without a meal at Koshy's ... well, I'm pretty sure that if I tried hard enough I'd be able to turn out a better plate of biryani than the cold shit they served us for lunch that afternoon. The locals might be docile and understanding and may take it all sitting down, but God help you if you fuck with a guy from out of town who's hungry! Like in the old Westerns, he'll whip out his guns and shoot you bludy dead. In fact I quite imagined doing that at Koshy's. First to go would be that condescending head waiter who claimed their biryani is not heated up again once it is made because it destroys the flavour! Yeah, and I'm a Kingfisher babe with nice bazongas!

This place on the other hand was awesome!
