The beheading of the American journalist was terrible. But there are a lot of terrible things happening around the world. Whether people are killed by bombs, bullets or have their heads cut off, the result is the same: more killing, more war, more despair. Be it for money, power or religion. Like the Game of Thrones, in the end nobody wins.

The search for meaning can often be meaningless. And so I don't entirely disagree with people who choose to ignore the bigger picture completely and focus instead on making every day as much of a fun and happy experience as possible. Because if you think about it the big picture can sometimes be very small. And one lifetime may indeed be too short a time to find meaning anyway. As for the lucky ones that do I wonder if finding it is even worth all the years spent looking.

Goa beckons. Haven't been there in the rains since '09. These days there is no off season. The show must go on, even if it is a damp squib.

Peace, love and water sandals.

I agree... in an attempt to figure out the bigger picture and the deeper meaning in life, we tend to loose out on the smaller more memorable events in our life...
Once in a while, we need to keep aside our struggle of trying to figure out and just let be...
