It wouldn't be too extreme to say that crowds sicken me. Why are we Indians so loud? In everything we do? Loud, loud, loud. Go to a restaurant and the people next to you are so loud you think it's better to shut up and listen to what they're saying instead.
Feel like a total misfit among crowds like these, I do. How many times has there been a joke cracked at the next table and you find the someone casting a glance towards you to see if you're laughing. It is assumed of course that you've heard. And if the person at the next table laughs, they it really is funny. Or so they'd like to believe.
I like these quiet evenings at home. Think I'll pour myself a drink. Turning into more and more of a loner I am. But I like it like this. Just me and my thoughts. And the Cowboy Junkies. Those of you never heard of the Cowboy Junkies, they're a Canadian alternative country/rock band, all in the family. Like Canada's version of the Corrs, maybe not so famous. But whatever happened to the Corrs? Did they break up?
Y'know, I'm thinking now it's only people who've never let music touch their souls who are so bludy loud. Like empty goddamn vessels.
Here's lead sing Margo Timmins and the Cowboy Junkies. Lonely sinkin' feeling. Love her voice ... enchanting. This for Eve. Keep the posts, and the music coming.

We Indians are ofcourse Loud people! Loud in everything we do infact!
And so much loudness kind of grates on your nerves at times when all you want is some quite and peace...
but then there are times when I crave all that noise...it kind of drowns your own thoughts...and you are left with what? nothing...sometimes that's nice...
Awww... SwB. Muah!
This never hit me till I traveled abroad and came back and after a month of stillness and polite conversations, the moment I stepped out into Bangalore Airport, it was like WHAM !!! hahhaha !!!
Got used to it again..
We call the Americans exclamation marks 'Bang Bang' only because of their predilection for loudly exclaiming about everything. Preceded with a OMG (gosh or god, depending on what side they are).
Walk into work and sneeze and there will inevitably be a loud cackle of 'Oh my GAWD! Are you ill?' and repeated OMG!s after that.
See your colleague at 6 pm after having spent an entire day hearing him mumble and he will definitely scream with mock surprise , 'OMG! Fancy meeting you here. How you been?'
No, throwing a question mark in response for all the bang-bang exclamation marks doesn't help matters.
In the one week I was in Boston, I kept asking myself why people have to be so loud. :-)
These days I ask myself why my neighbours have to be so loud!
My boss is not sending me abroad to realise how loud we are. Please forward this comment to him. He is travelling next week leaving me behind.
alloa there.
who can ever forget "sweet jane" by the cowboy junkies from the natural born killers OST:-)
...it's only people who've never let music touch their souls who are so bludy loud...
i think the loudest people are those who got rich the fast and easy way coz of their parents' wealth, and contacts.
Ever tried reading a book while sitting in a mall? That is a different kind of therapy..just like the music and drink ;)
BTW try out "Fans by Kings of Leon"..they are all in the family too :)
yes.. we indians are a loud bunch.. but then we are also the most enterprising and the most intelligent and the most adaptable :)...
i could go on and on....
i guess somewhere there has to be a balancing act.. what say !!!
